WITH privatisation off the table for at least the next four years (some pundits even say eight), Fremantle Ports has confirmed its having another look at commercial development on Victoria Quay.
“Fremantle Ports is keen to see further regeneration of Victoria Quay’s western end and has been giving some thought to various opportunities in line with the government’s desire to see further commercial development on Victoria Quay,” Ports external affairs manager Ainslie de Vos told the Herald.
“The thinking to date is at an early stage,” she says.
“We hope to be discussing opportunities with the city and other stakeholders in the near future.”
She wouldn’t comment on rumours circulating that a hotel was being considered as one of the potential elements of the makeover.
