Microchipping is the optimum way of permanent identification in pets and the best way to make sure lost pets get reunited with their owners. It is a strict requirement by all City Councils for all dogs and cats.   If your pet becomes lost, vets, animal shelters and local councils can check your pet for a microchip and contact you via the database. The microchip itself is very small – about the size of a grain of rice and is inserted under your pet’s skin, between the shoulder blades. It’s a quick procedure that is similar to giving an injection.
