SPEEDY Leeming youngster Phoebe Knudsen has cleaned up at the opening round of WA’s speed boat season at Lake Towerrinning.

The 16-year-old, who’s currently WA junior state champion, won the Junior Cup and pulled in the most club points after four races.

Round 2 is at the club’s Burswood course on Sunday, November 12, but they’re also holding a juniors-only promotional race on November 26 to try to entice more youngsters into the sport. Any child over 10 get to have a go in a junior race boat; but of course there’ll be rescue boats on hand just in case. V8 displacements, Formula Tunnel boats and 25hp race boats will also be on display at the free event.
