Woolstores v2

AMENDED plans for a 10-storey redevelopment of Fremantle’s Woolstores shopping centre have been released for public comment.

The old shopping centre will be flattened to make way for a mixed-use development featuring a 141-room hotel, offices, shops, car parking, a tavern and market hall. There are also 261 rooms for students and 155 retirement units.

It’s significantly different from the first guise which came before Fremantle council’s expert design committee in April, who’d wanted a full rather than partial redevelopment.

There’ll be a community information session on Thursday November 9 at the council’s reception room from 5.30pm.
