A BUOY bearing the intriguing name “Freemantle Doctor” has washed up in the United States.
Roger Erickson emailed the Chook this week wondering “when you will pick it up” after finding the buoy washed up in Duxbury, Massachusetts, somewhere between Boston and Cape Cod in the wake of a raging nor’easter a couple of weeks ago.
“Wish it could tell us about the voyage if it indeed came from Fremantle,” Mr Erickson said.
“I’m thinking it is probably from some local scientific project that just used the Freeemantle name, but thought I would check with someone Down Under.”
The number 002172 is also written on the buoy in black texta, along with Ch-7.
If you’ve got any idea where it’s from, let the Chook know at firstname.lastname@example.org or search for us on Facebook.
