THE owner’s four-year-old son guided me through this Atwell villa, and he made a lot more sense than some estate agents I’ve met down the years.
The youngster was clearly proud of his trampoline, plonked on a swathe of grass in a well-fenced section of the garden, and the brick paving in the alfresco is great to ride your bike on, he says excitedly.
But he tests my gullibility when he points at the toys strewn across his bedroom floor.
“My sister made that mess,” he says with a cheeky grin
Mind you, he could have been right, as his two-year-old sibling was in the midst of casting spells at toys with an imaginary wand.
This three-bedroom villa on Bartram Road has a couple of courtyards areas, and a generous alfresco, all screened by a hedge of lilly pillies.
Open the curtains covering the almost floor-to-ceiling glass doors in the spacious open plan “and you get a nice green view,” the owner says.
Tiled floors in the living areas means easy maintenance, especially with young kids.
The good-sized kitchen has plenty of bench space to make their play lunch, and loads of storage, including a generous double pantry.
The alfresco has cafe blinds and is a great spot for entertaining all year round, or for just relaxing with a family barbie on a Sunday, the owner says.
The main bedroom is en suite, while the kids share the second bathroom.
This is a great starter home for singles and parents with young children, or for retirees wanting a lock and leave with room for their grandkids to visit.
The villa is the largest of 15 directly across the road from Atwell College, while Atwell primary school is a 20-minute walk away.
There’s a choice of parkland nearby and it’s a five minute drive to Cockburn station and the local shopping centre.
