Now under new management, Carrington’s Bar and Grill has been transformed into a relaxed, family-friendly venue with a fresh, welcoming vibe.
With its vast dining room and casual spaces, the light and airy venue is the perfect place to enjoy award-winning food with family, or while away the hours with friends over world-class drinks and $18 classic cocktails including espresso martini, Aperol spritz and Long Island iced tea.
The Hamilton Hill tavern also boasts daily dining specials which, according to owner Ashley, are becoming very popular with families as the cost of living continues to rise.
On the Sunday afternoon I visited with my wife Kylie and our two kids, we took advantage of the Kids Eat Free special. With each adult meal over the value of $29.50 you receive a kids meal for free. How’s that for a bargain!
Sundays also include a two course Sunday Roast special ($35) which Kylie was quick to order.
Her plate was stacked with traditional roast veggies including sweet carrots, grilled broccolini and fluffy potatoes, all piled high with a mound of juicy roast pork and crispy Yorkshire pudding.
“It’s absolutely delicious,” she told me between mouthfuls.
Kylie’s second course was a slice of apple pie with cream and strawberries. The indulgence left her full and satisfied.
On the other side of the table, eight-year-old Ollie was challenging himself with the mammoth Aussie Aussie Aussie burger ($23) which includes a thick, medium rare lamb and rosemary patty, smoked bacon, fried egg, swiss cheese, and beetroot and onion relish.
To my surprise Ollie finished the whole lot.
“That was the best burger I’ve ever had,” he said as he took his last bite. With Ollie being quite the burger connoisseur, that’s the ultimate compliment.
I couldn’t look past the 400gm Black Angus Ribeye ($43) on the menu and I wasn’t disappointed.
Cooked perfectly medium rare, the ribeye was tender, smoky and juicy. Every mouthful was a pure delight.
It’s served with chips and a rocket, parmesan and red onion salad which was a worthy accompaniment.
As well as terrific food specials, other ongoing attractions rejuvenating the tavern include live music, karaoke and quiz nights to name a few.
All of this is topped off with some of the friendliest, attentive and knowledgeable staff I’ve ever come across in any venue across Perth.
You’ll be doing yourself a favour by putting Carrington’s Bar and Grill at the top of your must-visit list. From what we’re hearing, there are big things to be announced in the near future.
