Patio time

GIVEN the current rental crisis, you could probably lease the cubby house at this Attadale home for a decent wedge.

It’s a delightful little number with a verandah, deck, windows, lilac paint job and overhanging gable roof.

If my kids’ behaviour keeps regressing during the school holidays, I’m considering moving in myself.

Jokes aside, the cubby is just one of the lovely touches in this three bedroom two bathroom home.

Featuring large, stylish floor tiles in the living areas, it’s lovely and cool during the summer months, but there’s still carpets in the bedrooms, so come winter you won’t be freezing your tootsies off.

There’s plenty of room in the open plan dining/kitchen/living area.

I like how it’s open plan but the kitchen is slightly tucked around the corner, giving you that slight noise and visual separation from the living areas (we’ve all watched our favourite TV show when at the most important scene, someone puts the kettle on).

The kitchen is huge with loads of storage space and stainless steel appliances, and there’s plenty of natural light flooding through the large windows above the sink.

There’s a good indoor-outdoor flow and you can slide back the large glass doors and walk into the huge alfresco in the back garden.

The owners have clearly spent a lot on a mammoth patio roof that stretches across almost the entire breadth of the house, with tons of room for a dining and lounge setting.

But it doesn’t feel hemmed in and you can still see lots of skyline courtesy of the clever gable roof in the middle section.

The other sections are quite high as well, so you can enjoy lots of greenery and the various shrubs and plants fringing the fence line.

At the side is a large shed and around the corner the aforementioned cubby house, which kids would absolutely love or you can ask your partner to sleep there if they are annoying you.

The back garden is an excellent low-maintenance area which could be used all-year round for meals and entertaining.

The refurbished bathrooms are neat and tidy and the bedrooms feel spacious and well-kept, with the ensuite main including a walk-in robe.

The home includes a laundry with direct access to the kitchen from rear of garage, a seperate WC and an open double garage with access to the back yard.

Situated on a rear block on Preston Point Road, you are close to plenty of shops and cafes, as well as Point Walter Reserve and lots of schools including Santa Maria Colleges and Attadale Primary.

This is an easy-care family home with a top entertaining area out the back.
