Staff and pupils at The Beehive Montessori School take part in the World’s Greatest Shave.
THE Beehive Montessori School in Mosman Park has raised more than $2500 for The Leukaemia Foundation by taking part in the World’s Greatest Shave.
One staff member and three students shaved off their hair during the School’s annual Family Fun Day picnic.
Snipped ponytails were donated and turned into wigs for people who had lost their hair during chemo, and shorter clippings were transformed into compost and floating booms to absorb oil spills at sea.
Instead of shaving off their locks, many students opted for a crazy hair style to raise money for the cancer foundation.
Funds raised will help support those undergoing treatment for blood cancer and go towards research.
Throughout the year, Beehive Montessori raises money for other organisations including the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, Native Arc, Canteen (bandanas) and The Smith Family.
