Charges upgraded

CHARGES relating to a car crash in North Lake last month that killed 18-year-old South Fremantle footballer Nick Campo have been upgraded to manslaughter. 

Five people were travelling in the ute which rolled and crashed into another car on Farrington Road in July. 

Several other passengers were critically injured. 

WA Police say the 17-year-old male driver of the ute was originally charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, amongst other charges. 

This charge has been upgraded to manslaughter. 

The 17-year-old will be appearing at the Perth Children’s Court on September 10.
