Fremantle Blessing of the Fleet

IT’S almost time for the spectacle and tradition of Fremantle’s annual Blessing of the Fleet Festival.

The big day starts at 8.30am with a Mass at St Patrick’s Basilica, followed by a Solemn High Mass at 9.30am led by a delegation of priests visiting from Sicily. Then the big Procession starts at 2pm from St Patrick’s and winds its way through to Fishing Boat Harbour for the Blessing of the Fleet at 3.30pm and a cracker display at 4.30pm on The Esplanade.

There’s Little Italy by the Sea at Fishing Boat Harbour from 12noon with fashion parades, interactive presentations and contemporary and traditional Italian music, dance and visual theatre. At the end of the day, Fremantle Biennale are putting on a spectacular light and drone show at Bathers Beach to help celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Madonna di Capo D’Orlando.
