One for the Earth

SUSTAINABILITY gurus Josh Byrne, of ABC’s Gardening Australia, and Curtin University professor Peter Newman will be at St Paul’s Anglican Church, Beaconsfield on Earth Day, April 22 to help launch the Household Guide to Net Zero Living.

The publication has been written by Rosemary Spark, a member of the St Paul’s Beacon Net Zero Group.

The event will also officially launch the new, publicly available EV car charging station on the church property.

“We are particularly proud to have such powerful speakers coming to support our environmental work and to especially raise the flag for net zero emissions living,” St Paul’s priest, Gemma Baseley, told the Herald.

“Some might wonder why a church would be leading the way in this initiative, but this is part of our core business! Caring for creation, living lightly, and encouraging others to do the same.

“We believe St Paul’s is the first church in the whole diocese of Perth to have a public EV charging station on site,” she said.

“So, we are asking the people of Fremantle to join us in taking up the banner of net zero emissions. With Peter and Josh at the helm it also promises to be a fun and engaging event”.

The publication launch will be on Tuesday, April 22 at 5.30pm. Refreshments will be provided.
