COCKBURN’S latest tourism attraction has moved closer, with Aventuur securing backers for its long-mooted Perth Surf Park.
Construction is due to start later this year, with a public opening slated for 2027.

• Aventuur’s surf park has a bigger footprint than Optus Stadium.
“The Perth Surf Park represents the first major tourism attraction to be delivered in Perth in over 25 years and is currently the single largest private investment in tourism infrastructure in the state,” Aventuur chair Andrew Ross said.
“Both RAC and Wyllie have a long history of supporting tourism ventures, and their investment in this once-in-a-generation project is just the latest example of this enduring commitment to investing for the benefit of the Western Australian community.”
The $120 million project will include a 2.2-hectare surfing lagoon, wellness and training facilities, and hospitality spaces, and is expected to bring more than 1 million visitors a year to Central Cockburn.
