What sets Sue’s lessons apart is her adult-focused teaching style. Forget stuffy, one-size-fits-all methods — her repertoire spans everything from classical and jazz to blues and pop, so students can play music they actually enjoy. Lessons are designed to fit around busy lives, with afternoon time-slots available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, all taught from Sue’s home piano studio in Spearwood.
Beyond the joy of making music, learning piano comes with some pretty impressive benefits. It’s a great way to stimulate the brain, improve memory, relieve stress and boost overall mood and wellbeing. There’s even a free theory program available for those who want to deepen their understanding without the pressure.
Sue is a fully qualified and highly experienced teacher, established in Fremantle since 2005, and an Accredited Teaching Member of the West Australian Music Teachers’ Association. She teaches beginners through to AMEB Grade 7, using the Faber Adult Piano Adventures and AMEB Piano for Leisure syllabus.
With qualifications in music, psychology and social work, Sue brings a friendly, student-centred approach that puts adults at ease from the very first lesson. If you’ve always wanted to play piano — or are ready to return to it — this might be your sign.
