Perth’s fashion lovers and bargain hunters are once again preparing for one of the city’s most anticipated community events, as the Bindaring Clothing Sale returns on Saturday 16 May 2026.
Held at the Robinson Pavilion at Claremont Showgrounds, the much- loved one-day fundraiser brings together thousands of high-quality, pre-loved fashion items — from coveted designer labels to everyday wardrobe staples — all offered at accessible prices. With free entry and items starting from just $2, the sale continues to attract a wide cross- section of the community.
Now in its sixth decade, the volunteer-run event has become a cornerstone of community giving in Western Australia, raising more than $3.2 million in support of Australian Red Cross programs across the state.
Event organiser Althea Mahon said the sale’s enduring popularity reflects a growing awareness around both affordability and sustainability.
“Bindaring is about more than fashion — it’s about community, sustainability and helping people in need,” she said. “Every item purchased contributes directly to programs that support vulnerable Western Australians.”
Funds raised through the sale have made a tangible impact
over the years. In 2025, proceeds supported Rocky Bay, based at the
Red Cross Lady Lawley Cottage, helping refurbish facilities for young people living with disability and their families. Donations also assisted Eat Up Australia, which provides lunches to students who might otherwise
go without. In previous years, the fundraiser has contributed to the purchase of a soup patrol and an emergency services vehicle for the Red Cross.
Beyond its charitable impact,
the sale is also playing a role in addressing the growing issue
of textile waste. With a strong emphasis on recycling, repairing and rehoming clothing, the event aligns with a broader shift towards more sustainable fashion practices.
Carefully curated sections, including Designer, Boutique, Emporium, Op Shop and Menswear, ensure there is something for every taste and budget, reinforcing the event’s reputation as both a treasure trove and a force for good.
As cost-of-living pressures continue to shape consumer
habits, the Bindaring Clothing Sale offers a timely reminder that style, sustainability and community support can go hand in hand.
