MELVILLE mother Liz Brunt and her sister Emma Taylor have developed a smartphone app for families seeking summer holiday fun.
The idea was born from frustration at a lack of information while looking for something to do with their kids.
Kids Play Perth lists more than 340 activities along with locations, opening hours, facilities and admission costs.
Ms Taylor is a sales executive and her sister works in hospital management. Neither had any idea how to make an app so they hired a developer in Sydney to do the programming while doing the content legwork themselves.
All up the project cost them a few thousand dollars. They’re charging $2.99 at the AppStore to recoup.
“We spent six months or so running around from Yanchep to Mandurah, typing descriptions and taking photographs” Ms Taylor says.
“Perth is anything but dull, you’ve just got to know where to find the fun.”
