HAVING convinced ourselves we live in a place that never gets cold, we shiver every winter in homes ill-defended against the dropping mercury.
But not at this Breaksea Drive, North Coogee home.
I wandered the length and breadth of this expansive four-bedroom/three-bathroom home in gentle warmth, thinking it’s high time I did something about my draughty house.
Not even its attractive expanses of off-white stone floors were immune from winter warmth.
Just a couple of years old this home is an elegant and stylish abode designed for harmonious family living.
The open-plan living area is a glorious, light-filled space thanks to massive banks of windows, including a huge peaked one following the lines of the cathedral ceiling.
A huge gas-fired “open fire” adds a visually warming ambience to this lovely, soaring space.
Come summer the pool is on the other side of the massive window, in the sheltered rear yard, where no doubt kids play enthusiastically and adults bob gently in the cool water.
The massive kitchen has acres of caesar stone bench tops, attractive wood-grained cupboards and drawers, a huge walk-in pantry and a mix of top-quality Miele and Bosch appliances.
The downstairs bedroom is a commodious space with semi-ensuite and a spacious walk-in-robe, just the shot for a guest suite.
Upstairs attractive double French doors close off the sitting room of the parents wing, with its street facing balcony and lovely bamboo flooring.
The bedroom is a huge space, also with doors to the balcony, a walk-in-robe/dressing room and a spacious ensuite with a deep bath and separate shower and WC.
Breaksea Dve is mere minutes walk away from popular South Beach, where you’ll find a couple of cafes, and of course Fremantle is just down the road.
