Currently exhibiting is Rosella Namok’s Monsoon Rain series of paintings from Cape York in Queensland. Rosella captures the heat and light of the Wet Season in her homelands around Lockhart River. Rosella’s paintings have been used as backdrops in the USA ballet production of Stravinsky’s ‘The Rite of Spring’.
Gallery2 has Warakurna desert artist Cynthia Burke with exquisite fine dot colour paintings. The exhibitions are now upstairs at the gallery and are open throughout September. Japingka has a wide range of smaller affordable artworks downstairs and is open 7 days. All exhibitions and special artists’ pages are available to view on the gallery website.
