Glen Cowans is a unique and passionate photographer. His inspiration is our ocean, his subjects the breathlessly beautiful life forms that live there. With a history of over 36 exhibitions, a large format coffee table book, and his own iconic Studio/Gallery next door to the Roundhouse in Fremantle, Cowans is taking photography to a new level and bridging the gap between photography and art.
His philosophy is to allow nature to be the artist and let the seascapes, colours and life forms of the ocean create masterpieces that offer viewers a rare experience, a glimpse of natural beauty far greater than many imagine.
Cowans’ works, photographed around W.A. and all over the world, have become highly sought after additions to collections within Australia and internationally. They have often been described as “tranquil” and “calming to the soul” and have been warmly welcomed into both contemporary and traditional spaces alike.
