THERE have been numerous fundraising appeals since the town of Yarloop was destroyed by bushfire, but the Chook was especially touched by two young nippers in East Fremantle who raised $390.50 by setting up an old-time lemonade stall.
Six-year-old Olivia Cleghorn and Charlotte Joyce spent hours making lemonade and biscuits to sell at their Fraser Street pitch the following day.
“Our total climbed overnight as I put the lemonade stall pictures on Facebook and family, neighbours and friends dropped in donations to add to our collection after the stall closed,” said Charlotte’s proud mum, Jo.
