KIDS are having a field day in the new animal friends enclosure at the Fremantle Early Learning Centre in Beaconsfield.

Dads on the centre’s committee banded together to build the enclosure from donated goods.

Kids up to the age of six are now enjoying nurturing and feeding animals that had been unwanted and have been re-homed at the not-for-profit child care.

Danielle Lake, co-chair of the FELC committee and mother of two, says while many child care centres install synthetic playgrounds sanitised for children’s play, they wanted to do something a little different at Beaconsfield.

The ELC, at 11 Doig Place, will have an open day on May 1, showcasing its large nature playground and the centre’s focus on sustainability.
