Buster fun bus turns 30

BUSTER THE FUN BUS turned 30 this week—but there are no signs of grey hair, and he is still entertaining kids with all the verve of a hyperactive teen.

The free parenting support service operates throughout Fremantle and Melville, pulling-up at parks and offering families a chance to mingle and support each other.

To celebrate its 30th birthday, Buster had a lunchtime party at Dick Lawrence Park in Beaconsfield on Wednesday.

The service was in danger of being cut by the Barnett government in 2012, but the story in the Herald led to storms of protest and then a u-turn.
