THE Fremantle Refugee Rights Network is hosting the launch of a new book by local author Seagull (aka Lara Averhoff), who recently spent time as part of a medical crew helping refugees of Lesbos, Greece and the Libyan Coast.
“After my experiences, in my book I wanted to capture in word and images the coexistence of hope and the risk of death, the simultaneous heart-opening, and heart-breaking experiences that the sea holds for those wishing to find a new home beyond it,” says Seagull. The Two Faces of the Sea is being launched at Kazoomies at the E-Shed Markets on Friday March 31 from 6pm.
