THE Hamilton Hill Community Group has taken a big step, opening a new home in the old child health building on Dixon Reserve.
The Hub 6163 is ready for members and has been spruced up with a lick of paint, some gardening and a new projector and screen.
An open day on Friday November 17 from 2pm-6.30pm will give locals a chance to check out the new space, which includes a handful of offices and a good-sized community room.
During the open day the club’s nascent choir will be performing, there’s free pizza and coffee, pinatas for kids (and maybe big kids), and a jewellery demonstration to let people know what type of activities will be on offer.
Poet Nandi Chinna’s writing group will also be giving a sample of their best.
Hub member Christine Duckham says it will give people a chance to suggest activities they’d like to see there.
