Freo Eats: Experience the best of live music and dining

Located in the heart of East Fremantle’s Plympton ward, The Duke of George stands out as the original live music and dining venue. Combining the joy of live entertainment with the pleasure of sharing fine food and wine with friends, this stylish venue captures the essence of a world-class live music club while offering its unique Southern-style hospitality.

The soul of The Duke of George is deeply rooted in the rich traditions of jazz and blues. However, the venue goes beyond these genres, embracing an array of exceptional talents from cabaret, Motown, soul, and funky homegrown blues. From quartets and big bands to premier album launches and intimate shows with elite touring artists, The Duke of George offers a diverse and vibrant music experience.

One of the highlights of The Duke of George is its delightful menu, curated to match the high standard of its entertainment. The kitchen, led by executive chef Ben Boisdevessey, serves a unique and outstanding jazz and blues club menu featuring local and seasonal ingredients. With excellent table service and an extensive drinks list, guests can enjoy delicious food and drinks directly at their tables, all while overlooking the stage.

A six-week series of lunch and live music features a quartet of elite Perth musicians reimagining Beatles classics. Doors open at 1pm, allowing guests to enjoy lunch or afternoon treats before the show begins at 2pm. Special offers on food and wine pairings, such as the creamed corn, crab, and chilli dish paired with a glass of Howard Park SSB, or the chocolate fondant with a fabulous French rosé, will add to the culinary delight. A fitting finale to an outstanding Jazz matinée series.

The Duke of George has firmly established itself as a premier hospitality and entertainment venue in Fremantle. This Saturday, treat yourself to an afternoon of late lunch and live music, featuring the talents of Benjamin Wit, Lucky Oceans, Ben Vanderwal, and Marc Earley in a “Beatles Reimagined” jazz matinee. It’s a splendid way to nurture your soul and enjoy the best of Fremantle’s vibrant music and dining scene.
