SUNSET drinks at Kidogo Arthouse may be a thing of the past after the owners were refused retrospective approval for a large timber decking.
The WA planning commission says the size and scale of the deck detracts from the 1884 heritage-listed gallery building.

• Joanna Robertson’s been told her Kidogo decking detracts from her heritage-listed gallery.
Kidogo director Joanna Robertson has been told she has to either remove the decking, which looks over Bathers Beach or bring it back to what was originally approved.
Ms Robertson is confident the matter can be resolved.
“I’ve been advised that this can be dealt with and we can get approval,” she says. “I don’t have all the details from my people yet, but my understanding is that a few small changes need to be made to get it through. For instance, we oiled the deck and you’re not allowed to do that.”
The refusal will have to be appealed to the SAT.
