MELVILLE’S artists are opening their doors next weekend (September 8) to give the community a behind-the-scenes peek at their creative life.

More than 30 studios and galleries will host art activities and give locals the chance to buy directly from artists who live or work in the city.

Melville deputy mayor Matthew Woodall says the weekend will be jam-packed.

“We’ll have demonstrations and hands-on activities at the Atwell Art’s Centre, a Sunday ‘garage art’ sale on the Esplanade, and the Plein Air Painting Group in action at Mt Henry Bridge, to name a few,” he says.

Exhibitions will be taking place all over the city including the opening of the council’s annual art awards at the civic centre; Scene 2018 exhibition at Nyisztor Gallery; the We Love Art exhibition at Atwell Gallery; Mandola Art Award finalists at St John of God Murdoch Hospital and MindMatter at Heathcote Museum & Gallery.
