Hangin’ in there

SOCIAL causes are the meat of Silva Dee’s music and his latest album Hangin In There is about homeless people and the widening gap between rich and poor.

The music is a mix of reggae, blues, folk, rock and the launch will include Silvadee and the Grasshoppers, along with the Swing Sisters, and Fiona Heath.

“We will have a 10 or 11 piece band.”

The song I’m Just a Worn Out Soldier came about after a chance meeting with an old bloke on the street, who talked of his war experiences, of his comrades dead and running for his life.

“He said ‘I’m just a worn out soldier’,” Dee says.

The launch is at the Navy Club in Fremantle, April 5.

The $20 entry includes a copy of the CD
