THE second round of recipients of the City of Melville’s Canning Bridge Place Grants program have been announced.

The seven funded projects include murals to improved signage for businesses, a scavenger ride for cyclists and a French play reading.

The aim is to encourage a safer, more active and vibrant community and business precinct in Canning Bridge.

Melville mayor Katie Mair said: “We’ve already seen projects delivered such as WestCycle’s Canning Bridge Scavenger Ride, which was lots of fun for the community, and the mural on the back of the Good Grocer Canning Bridge IGA looks stunning as well.

“It’s fantastic that through the Canning Bridge Place Grants, we’ve been able to reinvest paid parking income back into the area for the benefit of the community.”
